NHS Career Exploration Night - January 26, 2017
Norcross High School
Rotary Career Exploration Night is our chance as a Business Community to help local high school students prepare for a future in our local and global community. Many of our students are unfamiliar with all of the career path opportunities that are open to them...if they are prepared to enter them. Many don't have access to career professionals to ask questions that may guide their education and skill development choices.

The Norcross HS Career Exploration Night is the Business Community's chance to provide students with a glimpse into the different career opportunities and what education and skills are required to enter those careers. Think about your own career path. Did you have a clue to what career alternatives might be available to you? What education you might need? What skills you could develop to be successful?
By volunteering to sponsor a Career Booth and/or participate in one of the following panel discussions, you can be that source of information for a new generation. Share your experience about the joys and challenges you've had in your chosen field with this new generation. Their Future (and ours) depends on it! Volunteer now and these FOUR hours of your life will make an impact that will extend into your future.
WHY: As local high school students become curious about various careers, there are very few opportunities for them to get face-to-face time with real professionals to ask questions about the education and skills they need to succeed in that career. They are eager to learn what colleges to explore, what experience they need, and the many different types of jobs that are available in various career pathways.?This Rotary Career Exploration Night is designed to help professionals in our community take time with students, who will be the next generation of workforce, and help guide and mentor them. It is our goal to help them set real goals and expectations for themselves and correct misconceptions they may have about various careers.?
Additionally, it is our goal to educate students about options open to them and encourage them to take courses that will help them explore the pathway that fits them best. This event will open their minds and open doors that we hope will set them on an exciting career path that’s just right for them.
