Prepare With Pedro
Contact the Americn Red Cross for a Variety of Free Programs for Children
Disasters can be scary for kids - but the American Red Cross has a variety of free programs to teach children how to prepare and stay safe during all types of emergencies.
Our signature youth preparedness education, Prepare with Pedro for grades K-3 is a great opportunity for summer camps. This program not only teaches youth how to be prepared for home fires or other local hazards, it includes resilience and coping skills training.
A longstanding offering of the Red Cross, Prepare with Pedro educates thousands of students nationwide each year and is supported by a suite of storybooks, activity books, animated videos games and songs.
Check out free resources at redcross.org/teachingkids and don't hesitate to reach out to me at suzanne.berger@redcross.org to explore having an onsite session facilitated by local Red Cross volunteers this summer.
