Scott Hilton, GA State House Representative for District 48 - Peachtree Corners, Johns Creek, Alpharetta & Roswell will be providing us a brief legislative update as the GA State House Session comes to a close this month.
We will be awarding a check to two of our amazing scholarship winners who are directly impacting our community.

Stan L. Hall serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Gwinnett Convention & Visitors Bureau (Explore Gwinnet). Explore Gwinnett houses, and is responsible for, all operations of Gas South District which include Gas South Arena, Gas South Convention Center, and Gas South Theater. As CEO, he also oversees the Gwinnett Sports Commission, the PGA TOUR Champions Mitsubishi Electric Classic at TPC Sugarloaf, the Gwinnett Film Office, and Coolray Field, the home of the AAA affiliate to the Atlanta Braves, the Gwinnett Stripers.
Prior to becoming CEO, Stan was the Chief Operating Officer of GCVB and Executive Director of the Gwinnett Sports Commission and Gwinnett Championship Foundation. He founded the Gas South District Speaker Series which promotes community dialogue through public events featuring local, state, and national speakers, as well as expert featured panel discussions.
In addition to his responsibilities at Gas South District and Explore Gwinnett, Stan is also very active in leadership positions throughout the community, including:
• Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Gwinnett County Licensing and Revenue Board of Appeals
• Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Sugarloaf Community Improvement District
• Member of the Board of Directors for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce
• Member of the Board of Directors for Gwinnett Public Schools Foundation
• Member of the Foundation Board for Northside Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation
• Member of the Board of Trustees for Piedmont Eastside Medical Hospital
• Member of The Gwinnett Sports Hall of Fame
• Member of the Gwinnett Police Foundation
• Member of Gwinnett Rotary
• Previous Chairman of the Board of Directors for Mosaic Georgia
Stan has received numerous commendations from the Georgia State Legislature, as well as a Gubernatorial commendation for public service, and has previously served on the State of Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and the Joint Terrorism Task force through the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Stan is a graduate of the 188th Session of the FBI National in Quantico, Virginia and has a MS Degree in Criminal Justice.
He is a fifth-generation resident of Gwinnett, where he and his wife, Janell, continue to happily reside. They have one daughter, Gabriella, and he is a life-long Georgia Bulldog fan.

Scott Hilton is a local Banker at a regional financial institution focused on serving small to mid-size businesses in the community. In this role, Scott helps business owners gain access to the valuable capital needed to fund growth. Prior to a career in banking, Scott was a Financial Analyst with Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA.
In his work as a State Representative, Scott serves a leadership role as Deputy Whip. He has been recognized as a ‘Legislator of the Year’ for the Georgia Association of Emergency Medical Services. Scott was also selected to attend the Center for the Advancement of Leadership Skills (CALS) through the Southern Legislative Conference.
Scott graduated with honors from Georgetown University with a double major in Finance and International Business with a minor is Psychology. During his time at Georgetown Scott enjoyed the opportunity to study abroad at Oxford University in England. Scott graduated from Emory University’s one - year accelerated MBA program with a concentration in Capital Markets.
Scott is active in his community, having served in a variety of roles including President of the Peachtree Corners Civic Association (UPCCA), First Vice – Chair of the Gwinnett Republican Party, and President of the Amberfield Homeowner’s Association. Scott is a graduate of Leadership Georgia, Conservative Policy Leadership Institute (CPLI), and LEAD Atlanta. He has formally served as Chairman of the Gwinnett County SPLOST Citizen’s Selection Committee and Treasurer of the Atlanta Down Syndrome Association. Scott also enjoys running, having completed four marathons.
Scott met his wife, Meredith, at Georgetown. Meredith is a local attorney specializing in estate planning and special needs law. Scott and Meredith are active members of Perimeter Church in Johns Creek, Georgia. Scott and Meredith have three children Trent, Chase, and Caroline. The family enjoys hiking, golf, tennis, grilling - out, traveling, and reading the Sunday paper.Date and Time
