PEACHTREE CORNERS, GEORGIA NAMED IN THE 2023 FORTUNE 50 BEST PLACES TO LIVE FOR FAMILIES

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA, June 14, 2023 – The City of Peachtree Corners is proud to announce its inclusion in this year’s edition of the Fortune 50 Best Places to Live for Families, coming in at #19 nationally and #1 in Georgia.

For the first time, this year’s list highlights the best place to live in each of the 50 states.

According to Fortune Magazine,  their evaluation included nearly 1,900 cities, towns, suburbs, exurbs, villages, and townships across all 50 states in the U.S.  The process reviewed more than 200,000 unique data points across the categories of education, aging resources, general wellness, financial health, and livability.

The magazine paid particular attention to challenges faced by multigenerational families, who often juggle the responsibilities of raising children while caring for aging parents.  The rankings considered such factors as the quality of local public schools, graduation rates, nearby college affordability, the number of quality nursing homes, assisted living communities, home health care agencies, risk of social isolation among older residents and access to solid health care providers.

We appreciate this recognition from Fortune Magazine and are determined to keep up the good work for our citizens,” said Peachtree Corners Mayor Mike Mason.  “Now more people are finding out what our residents have always known.”

Additionally, Fortune recognized the importance of places that offered diverse neighborhoods. Fortune’s staff compared the racial breakdown of each place against state benchmarks, eliminating any place that was 75% less diverse than the state medians. Fortune also incorporated socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic diversity into its data collection process.

"The recognition of our city as a great place to live for families is a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work of our exceptional city employees,” said City Manager Brian Johnson. “Their tireless efforts have played a vital role in shaping Peachtree Corners into a thriving community that families love.”

To build their rankings, Fortune used information from a variety of public and private sector sources to include CVS Health,  GreatSchools, HealthGrades, Johns Hopkins University, Realtor.com, and the Council for Community and Economic Research, as well as the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and U.S. Census Bureau.
